This morning I went to get the materials for the week. I found flashcards and stuff for the slime, etc. I also planned out next week’s schedule and got that together as well as planned the activities.

When I got to Cooperativa Sociale Essere, I was first instructed to do my activity for the day which was to do english-italian flashcards with the kids in el centro. This was actually really interesting because as I was doing the lesson, I got to see how interested they were. They got really interested when I had pictures on the screen, so note for next time to do lots of gifs and pictures. Francesco was getting kind of sassy, but it was really good to see him interacting in that way honestly. Maria was very interested and I think we were equally appalled at hearing each other pronounce words in our first languages.
We worked on this lesson and I also learned a new game.

Lucia taught me how to play scopa. I still am a little unsure on some of the cards, but for the main part I knew what I was doing and Lucia was so proud of me when I started getting the game. We only had to use google translate a couple times!!! I am so proud of the things I learned from the kids. I feel like the more they teach ME, the more I am able to connect with the kids. It is so inspiring and fulfilling to work with them.
Side-note: Mario- one of the siblings in Arielle, was asking for me today and he came downstairs to see me! They are so awesome and this is an incredible experience.
