Day 23 - "and that's why I love you..."

Today and for all of this week, all of the arielle kids will be gone! It is exciting, but also why do I miss them. There is peace, but also too much silence. I can’t wait for them to be back, but this week will look a little different. For most of today, I just hung around talking with Federica, Ascia, and Francesco. Our pattern of talking in broken english/ Italian has gotten better and smoother honestly. I thoroughly enjoying getting to know everyone better, but also getting to know how much they enjoy me. Selfish I know, but I feel being so far away from home I have few senses of family to hang on to and this is one of them. 

After Ascia and Francesco went out for the day, Federica gave me a task that I could help her with doing administrative work. It was something to do with hours for the kids and inputting into a spreadsheet. I am not really sure what the purpose was, but I knew exactly how to do it and how to manipulate excel enough to impress her. I enjoy tasks like that. I can just drown out my surroundings and focus on something that doesn’t really require much emotional brainpower.

Federica said “and that is why I love you, for me this task is boring” after I told her that I would love to help!
