Today, the kids, educators, and I hung out at the beach all day. We didn’t really do much, so I am just going to list about 5 things I have learned from this experience/ just today in general.
Don’t ever assume that the educators are actually packing up and leaving the beach because I can promise you it will be about another hour before they actually pack up and go.
Go with the flow. There was a whole new kid- a friend of Mario’s named Sassi that just was one of the kids we were looking after and I didn’t know anything about him, but was able to make him laugh and have fun. I observed how Federica was interacting with him and almost copied it
It’s best to laugh. Often, I will say things in italian and it’s correct, but a little funny coming from an american. It is best to laugh, and this sort of applies to everything.
Don’t look at the clock too much. When you are rushing out it makes other people feel like they are not entertaining or the time is absorbed by thinking about time. It’s just not that important.
Connect. All people want human connection and the closer you get to someone the easier it is to understand them and honestly get close to other people as well.
