Day 12- Oh, you know, just another day in the office.

We started the day getting the kids dressed from showering and cleaning up from the beach. I didn’t go to the beach with them, but I was there to help with the overload of cleanup! It was really chill because mario was in a good mood and so when i was getting him dressed we were just hanging out and and making jokes. We then were playing with the chess set, not actually playing, but setting them up and bringing them down. 

Giovanna came out of her room and wanted to play a card game. I did not remember what it was called, but it was something like crazy eights and she was really good at it. I used Sister juve to help translate, but most of it was really simple for her to teach me. We played 3 or 4 rounds of this and then I taught her how to play war. It was great because i won, but she thought it was fun. 

After this, I started card games with Francesco. We played uno for a bit and then I taught him war with a 52- card deck. He doesn’t talk very much, but when he does he YELLS. I like figuring out how to make him talk more calm. It is interesting and it makes it easier to know what he wants. 

All of this translating is nonverbal and verbal, but mostly just being open to understanding- on both sides.
